Job purpose
To play a key role in the delivery of the First Team Performance Analysis programme, providing high- quality, relevant and actionable analysis to support coaches and players across match preparation, training and matchday.
The role will take a lead responsibility for the analysis of attacking and defensive set plays, alongside opposition goalkeeper analysis, working closely with the coaching staff to identify trends, threats and opportunities that can directly inform match preparation and performance.
As part of the wider Performance Analysis department, the post holder will also contribute to pre- match, post-match and live matchday analysis, ensuring coaches and players receive clear, timely and impactful information to support decision-making and performance.
Key responsibilities
Lead the Performance Analysis department's set-piece analysis provision, working closely with the relevant First Team coaching staff.
V11 September 2026 Analyse the team's attacking and defensive set-piece performance, identifying trends and opportunities to support the coaching process.
Lead opposition set-piece analysis for each fixture, identifying routines, key personnel, tendencies and potential threats or opportunities.
Support the analysis of set-piece training and provide relevant video feedback to coaching staff and players.
Lead opposition goalkeeper analysis, identifying relevant tendencies and providing actionable information to coaches and players.
Produce clear, concise and engaging video analysis and presentations to support First Team match preparation.
Provide live matchday analysis at all First Team home and away fixtures.
Support the delivery and operation of matchday analysis systems, including video feeds, equipment and connectivity.
Capture, code and analyse matches and training using Hudl Sportscode and associated analysis platforms.
Contribute to individual player analysis and other First Team analysis projects as required.
Maintain analysis workflows, databases and equipment and ensure footage and information are managed appropriately.
Work collaboratively with the wider Performance Analysis department and First Team coaching staff to deliver the analysis requirements of the team.
Undertake other reasonable analysis responsibilities as directed by the Head of Analysis.

Key relationships
Head of Analysis – day-to-day line management, prioritisation of workload and delivery of the First Team analysis programme.
First Team coaching staff – regular collaboration to establish analysis requirements and deliver relevant information to coaches and players.
First Team analysts – close collaboration to ensure effective delivery and continuity across pre-match, post-match and matchday analysis.
First Team players – delivery and communication of relevant individual and collective analysis where required.
Wider performance and football staff – collaboration where analysis requirements overlap with other areas of First Team performance.
Scope of role The post holder will form part of the First Team Performance Analysis department and will lead the set play analysis provision across the First Team programme.
The role carries significant responsibility for the timely delivery of analysis within the weekly match cycle and requires regular attendance at First Team fixtures, including evenings, weekends and travel where required.
The post has no direct reports but requires regular collaboration with senior coaching staff, players and colleagues across the football department.
